COACH & TEAM INFO: We're warning you now--coaches do have vacations, jobs, families, etc. that sometimes pulls them away from their volunteer coaching position. Please be patient and understanding with us and them as we try our very best to have someone consistent to work with your child. You can find information regarding your child's coaches and team by clicking here.
PARKING: Please park in the parking lots! Bristol Police have indicated that they will ticket cars parked in fire lanes or on the grass.
RAIN POLICY: We still have practice in the event of light rain. Coaches have the option of cancelling practice if it's pouring . For safety reasons, nobody is allowed on the fields if there's lightening. Please do not call Jen or Kevin if you're wondering if there is still practice. Check this website for any news and sign-up for e-mail updates. We will do our very best to keep you posted but please be advised that we can't guarantee every cancellation to be posted here.
EQUIPMENT: Sneakers or athletic shoes are required. Shin guards are highly recommended-especially for the older children. All equipment is available at Green Mountain Shoe and Apparel in downtown Bristol.
BATHROOMS: A port-a-let is located at the far western end of the playing fields for your convenience.
FIRST AID: We have first aid kits to deal with minor injuries and members of the Bristol Rescue Squad with their first aid equipment are present during our sessions. Ask anyone wearing a “COACH” shirt if you or your child needs medical attention.
WATER: Water is available in a cooler located on or near the bleachers on the north end of the traffic loop. You may also find it useful to bring a bottle of water for your child, since they may be more likely to use it if they don’t have to walk across the field to get it.
PARENTAL SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN: It is helpful to preschool and kindergarten children if their parent(s) remain on the field during the soccer program. If your child is shy or struggling to participate please join he/she on the field by assisting the coach(es).
PICTURES: We would like to post team pictures on our website without identifying individual players. We understand any concern regarding internet safety, so kindly e-mail us if you do not wish for your child's picture to be posted.
SUN & BUGS: Please use your judgment whether to apply sunscreen and/or bug repellent.
GARBAGE: Please do your part and have your children do their part in picking up any garbage at the end of practice. Paper cups and Popsicle sticks do not make nice lawn ornaments nor is fair to ask our already so generous volunteers to clean up your mess. Thank you:)
QUESTIONS AND VOLUNTEERS: If you have any questions or want to help in any way please contact one of the people listed on the side or at our email address. MAYS is composed entirely of volunteers and cannot run without the help of the parents whose children benefit from the program.
